Read the Claude Code documentation at code.claude.com/docs. The Russian version sits on the same domain under a /ru/ prefix, for example code.claude.com/docs/ru/cli-reference. The Claude API itself (the Messages protocol, keys, models) is documented separately at platform.claude.com/docs, and that site has a Russian translation too. If you connect Claude Code through a gateway, codexkey adds its own docs section and blog posts that walk through specific errors and setups.
Official Claude Code documentation
code.claude.com: the main source
This domain covers the CLI, IDE extensions, hooks, MCP, skills and the Agent SDK. To avoid scrolling through everything, remember the pages people open most often:
| Section | What to look for |
|---|---|
overview | An overview of Claude Code and every way to run it: terminal, VS Code, JetBrains, desktop, web |
quickstart | Installation and a first session, step by step |
cli-reference | All shell commands and flags |
commands | All slash commands available inside a session |
settings and settings-reference | The settings.json file and every supported key |
memory | The CLAUDE.md file, auto memory, AGENTS.md |
mcp and mcp-quickstart | Connecting MCP servers |
skills | How Skills work and how to write your own |
troubleshoot-install | Install and sign-in errors, organized by symptom |
troubleshooting | Errors that show up during work, after installation |
Open code.claude.com/docs/llms.txt and you get a machine-readable index of every documentation page at once. It was built for agents and models, but a person can use it as a table of contents too: when you are unsure which page to read, skim the list.
Old docs.anthropic.com links
A link like docs.anthropic.com/en/docs/claude-code/... in an old bookmark or someone else's article still works. The domain answers with a permanent redirect (301) to the current code.claude.com/docs/en/.... There is no need to assume the docs moved away and the link is dead. Update the bookmark once, so you stop paying for the redirect.
platform.claude.com: the API docs
If your question is about the protocol rather than the CLI (the Messages API, the request format, models, keys, limits), go to a different domain: platform.claude.com/docs. That section used to live at docs.claude.com, which is now an alias that redirects. In practice the boundary is simple. code.claude.com explains the tool in your terminal, and platform.claude.com explains the API that tool runs on.
Anthropic's documentation in Russian
Both sections have a Russian version, and it is more than a courtesy. The pages read like ordinary technical documentation, the terms stay intact, and there is little left of raw machine translation. You can check in a minute: code.claude.com/docs/ru/overview opens the overview, code.claude.com/docs/ru/cli-reference gives the CLI reference, and platform.claude.com/docs/ru/home leads to the Russian home page of the Claude API with sections such as Quickstart, API reference and Models.
One caveat. The translation lags behind the English original, which is normal for documentation that changes every week. If a command or flag behaves differently from what the Russian page says, open the same address with /en/. Most likely the English page was updated and the translation was not.
What codexkey publishes for Russian readers
Besides Anthropic's documentation, codexkey has a section written for connecting through a gateway:
- Claude Code: which environment variables to set, a sample
settings.json, common connection errors. - API key setup: what a codexkey key looks like and where to paste it in different tools.
- Models and Pricing: the current model list and per-token rates.
- Quickstart: a first API request, not tied to any one tool.
- FAQ: questions about billing, access and limits.
The blog covers separate scenarios. The general install is in How to set up Claude Code in 2026, and Windows and WSL get their own post, Installing Claude Code on Windows.
How to read the English docs when your English is weak
Even with a Russian version, you cannot always avoid English. New features reach the translation late, and the Agent SDK or advanced sections such as gateway configuration may have no Russian page at all. These habits help in practice.
Translate the text around the commands, not the whole page. Commands, flags and file names (claude --model, settings.json, CLAUDE.md) look the same in every language. What you need to understand is the sentence they sit in. A browser translator handles plain text well and leaves code in <code> blocks alone.
Ask Claude Code itself. If a session is open and connected to codexkey, type in the terminal: "explain in Russian what the --bare flag does" or "translate and summarize this documentation page". The agent reads pages and retells them much faster than you can translate paragraph by paragraph.
Trust the code example over the prose. Nearly every description in the Claude Code docs comes with a ready command. If the paragraph is unclear and the example next to it works, copy the example and learn from how it behaves.
Treat the Russian version as primary and the English one as the reference. Open /ru/ first. Keep the same address under /en/ in a neighboring tab: it covers you when the two versions disagree and shows fresh changes the translation has not caught up with.
FAQ
Where do I find the official Claude Code documentation?
The main address is code.claude.com/docs. Links to the old docs.anthropic.com/en/docs/claude-code/... still open, because they redirect to the current domain on their own.
Is there Claude Code documentation in Russian?
Yes, on the same domain under the /ru/ prefix, for example code.claude.com/docs/ru/quickstart. The Claude API documentation has a Russian section too: platform.claude.com/docs/ru/.
How do docs.anthropic.com, code.claude.com and platform.claude.com differ?
They are not three separate documentation sets. It is one body of content on the current domains, and docs.anthropic.com now only redirects. code.claude.com describes the Claude Code CLI tool, and platform.claude.com describes the API it runs on.
Can I trust the Russian documentation if it disagrees with the English?
Generally yes. But when the disagreement concerns a specific command or flag, check the original under /en/ at the same address. The translation updates with a delay, and a fresh feature may appear in it later.
Where do I find the list of all Claude Code flags and slash commands?
Shell flags are collected on the cli-reference page and session slash commands on the commands page, both on code.claude.com/docs. A short cheat sheet of the most common commands and flags is in the post Claude Code CLI: commands and flags.
Where do I read about connecting Claude Code to codexkey rather than a regular Anthropic account?
Anthropic's documentation does not cover it, which is understandable: it does not write about third-party gateways. The case is covered in the Claude Code section of the codexkey docs: which environment variables to set and how to get a key.
