The codexkey referral program is live. Over the last few months it was the most requested feature, especially from teams who had already brought colleagues and friends on board by hand. Now sharing Claude API access through codexkey pays you back, too.
How it works
In Dashboard → Referrals you will find:
- a personal short link with a
?ref=K7M2XQparameter, - a QR code for sharing the link offline or in chat apps,
- a stats block: total earned, earned in the last 30 days, how many people signed up through your link, and how many of them are active.
When a new user follows your link, we quietly store your referral code
in a 400-day cookie and immediately strip ?ref=... from the address
bar. That makes the link safe to post on Twitter, in a blog, or in a
GitHub project.
After signup the user is attached to you for good. On every later top-up of their balance you receive 5% of the amount: automatically, in dollars, straight onto your codexkey balance. No coupons, no support requests, and no waiting for the end of the month.
What it adds up to
A few typical scenarios:
- A friend who is a solo developer tops up $50 a month: you earn $2.50 a month without lifting a finger.
- A team of 3 developers tops up $300 a month combined: $15 a month.
- Someone makes a single business top-up of $1000 for a project on Opus 4.8: $50 at once.
The minimum top-up that triggers a bonus is $5. That keeps accidental test payments out of the credits and stops the bonus history from filling up with tiny rows.
Under the hood
We built referrals as a proper part of billing. This is what is inside:
- Cookie and localStorage attribution. It survives closed tabs, switching between devices within the same browser, and hops between OAuth providers during signup.
- Idempotent crediting. Even if a payment webhook fires twice, exactly
one bonus is written. The database has a UNIQUE INDEX on
source_payment_id, and the key is deterministic:ref:auto:<payment_id>. - Anti-abuse heuristics. No more than 5 first-time top-ups per 24
hours per referrer, plus a
same_ipflag on suspicious signups. Suspicious bonuses go to admin moderation and are not credited automatically. - Transparent history. The dashboard shows every credit: the time,
the original top-up amount, the rate, and the status (
pending, credited, failed, reversed). - Bonuses survive outages. If Wellflow is temporarily unreachable at
credit time, the row stays in
failedand, once the service is back, is recovered through an admin Approve. Money is not lost.
How to get your link
- Sign in to your account.
- Open Referrals in the side menu.
- Copy the link or download the QR code.
- Share it where it fits: on a personal blog, in a team chat, on your GitHub profile, on Twitter.
We can raise the rate individually for large ambassadors and content creators. If your channel reliably brings more than ten active users a month, write to support through the contact page.
What's next
This is the first version. On the roadmap:
- multi-tier rates: the more volume, the higher the percentage,
- a leaderboard of top referrers with extra bonuses,
- an API for partners who want to embed links automatically.
You can leave requests in the Telegram chat or send them by email. Until then, open the dashboard, copy your link, and invite the people who also need dependable Claude API access in Russia and the CIS.
