You can use Kling AI for free, but only up to a point. In the official table the free Basic plan has no monthly credits, and Kling does not publish how many trial generations your account will get. Below: what is confirmed as of 29 October 2026, how to estimate the number of clips, and where to go when the free allowance runs out.
What Kling AI gives for free
Kling acknowledges a free tier but gives no numbers. The service pages say that free credits and generation limits "depend on the account and current offers", and that advanced models, high resolutions and watermark-free downloads may require a paid plan (Kling plans page).
The most specific source is the table in Kling's credit guide of 28 July 2026:
| Parameter | Basic | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $6.99 for the first month, then $8.80 |
| Monthly credits | none | 660 |
| Creating elements (characters, objects) | 30 | 50 |
| Commercial use | no | yes |
Kling advises checking your balance and the price of a generation in your account before you run anything: the cost depends on the model, resolution and mode. So the first step is always the same: sign in at kling.ai, open Creative Studio, pick a model, see how many credits will be charged, and only then press the button.
The Standard benefits also include 1080p, a faster queue, video extension and watermark removal. Basic has none of these (Kling guide). For paid plans and for subscription versus API, read the Kling AI 3.0 review.
Where free credits come from
Kling's credit policy names four sources (Credits Policy):
- Promotional credits handed out during campaigns. The expiry date is given in the campaign notice.
- Subscription credits: they arrive every month and last a month, and with a seven-day subscription they last seven days.
- Daily sign-in credits: during promotions subscribers can receive them at the first sign-in of the day. The platform decides the amount, and the allowance resets at 24:00.
- Purchased credits, which are valid for two years.
Blogs mention a figure of "66 credits a day". We found no confirmation from Kling. In the credit policy 66 is the purchase rate: one dollar equals 66 credits. So go by the balance in your own account after signing in, not by other people's numbers. You cannot skip registration: credits are received and spent only by signed-in users.
How many clips free credits make
Kling itself estimates that 660 credits cover 33 videos in 720p. Dividing gives about 20 credits per clip. The guide does not specify that clip's length, so the formula is only a guide:
- 100 credits give about 5 clips in 720p.
- A second in 4K costs 30 credits, so the same 100 credits cover a little over 3 seconds.
- With 20 or 30 credits on the account, you get one 720p test.
The practical takeaway: free credits are enough to check whether the model understands your scene, but not to build a project. Test with short clips and one clip at a time, so a bad prompt does not eat the balance. If a generation ends in an error, the credits are returned under the policy.
How to spend the free allowance and whether it is enough
Order of tests
Free credits run out fast, so spend them to a plan:
- Start with an image. Kling writes separately that photo animation is free for eligible accounts, and it is the most predictable mode for a test.
- Pick the shortest video and the lowest resolution available. Leave 4K and long clips for later.
- One story, one action, one camera. A vague prompt burns credits faster than you can correct it.
- Keep the prompt next to the result. That way you can compare versions and avoid repeating a failed one.
- Make sure you are signed in: without sign-in credits are neither granted nor spent.
- Turn on sound and multi-shot only once the base shot works: according to the Kling guide they affect the price.
Whether the free option fits your task
| Task | Free? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Check an idea and a style | yes, on trial credits | a short clip from a photo, one shot |
| A clip for a personal channel with no brand | with caveats | a watermark is possible, the credit limit is small |
| Client work or advertising | no | Basic bans commercial use, a paid plan is needed |
| A series of ten or more clips | no | a Standard subscription or pay-per-result over the API |
| 4K video | no | 30 credits per second by Kling's calculation |
If independence from credits matters more, open models fit. Wan 2.2 in the Wan-AI organization on Hugging Face comes in several variants: T2V-A14B, I2V-A14B and the lighter TI2V-5B. They run on your own hardware and do not depend on the service's limits.
Kling AI hack, mods and "free credits" from chats
Searches often include "kling ai hack" and "mod". We give no links to such files, and here is why. The platform grants and deducts credits for a signed-in user, and the deduction happens at the moment of generation. A client app has nothing to "hack": the promised unlimited use usually turns out to be a scam or someone else's paid account. And a third-party file gets access to your login and your device.
The same goes for sellers of "Kling credits". Under the policy, credits cannot be transferred or gifted to another user. So the seller either hands over access to their own account or hands over nothing. Pay only on Kling's official pages and never send your password.
A free AI video generator with Russian prompts, and options besides Kling
If Kling did not give you enough volume, look at the neighbouring options. The table is current as of 29 October 2026:
| Option | What is free | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Kandinsky 6.0 Video (Sber) | open code under MIT, 5-second clips with 44 kHz sound; according to T-Journal (in Russian), free in GigaChat | running it yourself needs an NVIDIA graphics card, and Full HD comes from a separate upscaling model (repository) |
| Wan 2.2 | open weights on Hugging Face | Wan 3.0 has not been released openly |
| Seedance in Dreamina | a free option with credits exists | Seedance 2.5 is offered on a paid subscription |
| Grok Imagine | the xAI FAQ names free limits for Chat and Voice | we found no confirmation for Imagine on the free plan |
Kandinsky is made by Sber, the Russian bank. We found no mention of Russian prompt support in the repository README, so test it on a trial generation. By the README's measurements, a five-second clip with sound in the Lite Distill (SD) version takes 68 seconds on an RTX 4090 and 174 seconds on an RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB, while Pro in Full HD on an RTX 4090 takes about 1,100 seconds. Kling's official material says nothing about a Russian interface. The other models, from Veo to Hailuo, are compared in the overview of AI video generators, and Seedance is covered in more detail in a separate article.
When to pay and how to do it cheaply
Paying makes sense once the free tests were enough to tell that the model fits. Count the price of a clip, not the price of the subscription. Subscription credits expire after a month, and if you use only a third of them, the overpayment is obvious. Then there are two routes.
The first is a Kling subscription. The cheapest way in is Standard at $6.99 for the first month. It gives 660 credits, about 33 clips in 720p by Kling's estimate, plus 1080p and commercial use. Renewal costs more ($8.80), so plan the cancellation in advance.
The second is the API. codexkey offers kling-v3.0 and kling-v2.6, with payment in rubles by Russian card, SBP (the Russian Faster Payments System) or cryptocurrency, no VPN (payment methods). Among the catalog's video models none is marked Free: only text models are free there. In return, money is charged only for a successful result.
curl https://api.codexkey.online/v1/videos \
-H "Authorization: Bearer sk_cdx_YOUR_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model": "kling-v2.6", "prompt": "A cat jumps off the windowsill and walks across a sunlit kitchen"}'
The response contains the task id. You check the status through GET /v1/videos/{id} and pick up the file from GET /v1/videos/{id}/content; details are in the images and video reference. The price of each model is on its page in the catalog, along with the allowed durations and resolutions.
FAQ
Kling AI free: how many clips can I make?
Kling publishes no exact figure. Free credits depend on the account and current promotions, and Basic has no monthly credits in the plan table. Check your balance in the account after signing in and divide it by 20 credits per 720p clip.
Is a free Kling AI in Russian realistic?
Kling has a free tier, but we found no confirmation of a Russian interface in the official material. Test Russian prompts on a trial generation. Among Russian options there is Kandinsky 6.0 from Sber: according to T-Journal, it is free in GigaChat.
Does free Kling put a watermark on videos?
Kling writes that downloading without a watermark may require a paid plan. Watermark removal is listed as a separate benefit of the paid plans, and Basic has no such item.
Can I use free Kling clips commercially?
No. By Kling's table, the result on the Basic plan cannot be used commercially, while Standard allows commercial use.
Does a cracked Kling or a mod work?
We do not vet such files and do not link to them. The platform itself grants and deducts credits, so the promised unlimited use usually means a scam or stolen login data.
Can I use Kling AI without registering?
No, officially no such mode is described. Under the credit policy only signed-in users receive and spend credits, and a generation deducts them immediately. Sites promising "Kling without registration" have no tie to the service's policy, and you should not hand them your data.
What should I do when the free credits run out?
Officially, more free credits come from platform promotions and daily sign-in credits for subscribers during promotions; Kling shows the size of the grants in the interface. If that is not enough, there are three routes: buy a Standard subscription, connect the codexkey API and pay per successful result, or run the open Kandinsky 6.0 on your own graphics card.
