On the international site Kimi has four subscription plans: Plus, Pro, Max and Ultra (formerly called Moderato, Allegretto, Allegro and Vivace). Prices are in dollars on kimi.ai and in yuan on the Chinese kimi.com. The API is paid for separately, by tokens. Neither site accepts Russian cards, but Moonshot AI's terms of use do not explicitly bar users from Russia either. Below: the plans, the API prices and a plan for when payment fails.
Subscription plans: kimi.ai and kimi.com
International site kimi.ai (USD)
Data from the kimi.ai pricing page (the prices in the screenshot are dated 19 October 2026):
| Plan | Former name | Price per month | With annual billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plus | Moderato | $19 | $15/mo |
| Pro | Allegretto | $39 | $31/mo |
| Max | Allegro | $99 | $79/mo |
| Ultra | Vivace | $199 | $159/mo |
According to Kimi, the plans were renamed and the prices left as they were; the old names (Moderato, Allegretto, Allegro, Vivace) are now listed as legacy plans and stay in place for current subscribers. We matched new names to old ones by identical prices. Goal Mode and a dedicated Kimi Claw start at Pro, and Plus does not have them. All plans share one credit pool across chat, agent tasks and Kimi Code. On the new plans (Plus and above) the Kimi Code limit is a rolling 5-hour window with no weekly limit; the legacy plans keep both. When the monthly credit pool runs out, Kimi Code is blocked as well, so "no weekly limit" does not mean "no limits".
Chinese site kimi.com (CNY)
Data from kimi.com/help/membership-pricing:
| Plan | Price per month |
|---|---|
| Go | ¥49 |
| Plus | ¥99 |
| Pro | ¥199 |
| Max | ¥699 |
| Ultra | ¥1,399 |
The Chinese site has five plans. The lowest, Go, does not include Kimi Code. The legacy names there are different: Andante, Moderato, Allegretto, Allegro. Two price lists for one product is not a mistake; you simply have to compare prices strictly within one domain and not mix dollars with yuan.
Basic chat on the K2.6 model is open with no subscription at all and spends no credits, but it has no advanced modes and no K3.
API prices: K3 and K2.6
Official prices from platform.kimi.ai/docs/pricing/chat, per 1 million tokens, as of 29 October 2026:
| Model | Input, cache hit | Input, cache miss | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| kimi-k3 | $0.30 | $3.00 | $15.00 |
| kimi-k3.1-pro | $0.20 | $2.00 | $10.00 |
| kimi-k2.6 | $0.16 | $0.95 | $4.00 |
The API base URL is https://api.moonshot.ai/v1. The API has no free tier: after signing up you have to top up the account with at least $1. K3 has a flat rate, and context length does not affect the price. The K2 series (kimi-k2.6 in the table) has been unavailable to new platform users since 31 October 2026; existing users are not affected. Kimi intends to switch off all K2 models by the end of December 2026.
The sanctions clause in the terms of use
The official terms of use of the Kimi Open Platform (platform.kimi.ai/docs/agreement/modeluse) contain a clause on export control. The service may not be used in countries and regions under comprehensive sanctions, where access would need an export license that has not been obtained, or by persons on sanctions lists. Russia and China are not named in the document: the wording is general, with no list of countries.
Moonshot AI has never officially stated that it blocks users from Russia by IP address. That does not mean access is guaranteed. The wording is broad enough to be read in different ways, and no promises can be made here.
What to do when payment from Russia does not go through
Neither kimi.ai nor kimi.com officially supports Russian bank cards. Users on specialist forums (vc.ru, dtf.ru) report that some people pay through payment intermediaries, virtual cards or an Apple ID balance. We give no step-by-step instructions for such schemes: Kimi's official terms do not describe them, and getting around a payment system's or a bank's restrictions also breaks the bank's own rules. Whether to take that risk is up to you, once you have weighed it yourself.
If you need a similar tool with direct payment from Russia
In codexkey, Kimi is available as an API. codexkey does not sell the Kimi subscription (Plus, Pro, Max, Ultra) or Kimi Code. The catalog as of 29 October 2026 has kimi-k3, kimi-k3.1-pro and kimi-k2.7-code, paid in rubles and with no intermediaries. If the end goal is "a coding agent or API paid in rubles", Claude (Opus 5.5, Opus 5, Sonnet 5, Haiku 5.5) and the GPT-6 line are available alongside; prices are on the models page.
Payment methods: YooKassa (Russian Visa, Mastercard and Mir cards, plus SBP, the Russian Faster Payments System), Platega (SBP by QR, Russian and foreign cards), and for cryptocurrency CryptoCloud, CryptoBot and 2328. Top-ups start from $1, and a bonus comes with each: +5% from $10, +7.5% from $20, +15% from $100, with the bonus capped at $100. The money is credited after the payment is confirmed, not instantly.
If you are looking for a replacement for Kimi Code for agentic coding, see Kimi Code: installation and use: it has a section on connecting Claude Code to codexkey the same way, through environment variables and without a vendor account.
FAQ
Is Kimi AI paid?
Basic chat on the K2.6 model is free and needs no subscription. Advanced modes, K3, agent tasks and Kimi Code are limited and need either a paid subscription or a funded API balance.
What does "download Kimi" mean, do I need to install an app?
Basic chat works in the browser at kimi.ai or kimi.com with nothing to install. Separate apps for desktop, mobile platforms and Kimi Code are listed on the official downloads page, kimi.ai/products/download. Download from there, not from third-party aggregator sites.
How is kimi.com different from kimi.ai?
They are two official domains of one Moonshot AI product. Kimi.ai is aimed at an international audience and counts in dollars, while kimi.com targets the Chinese market and counts in yuan. Plan names partly overlap, but prices and terms differ, so do not mix them up.
Does Kimi accept the Mir card?
Kimi's payment pages mention neither Mir, the Russian national card system, nor any other Russian payment system. The company has not stated that it supports Russian cards.
Is Kimi blocked in Russia?
Moonshot AI has not officially stated that it closes access to users from Russia. The API terms of use speak of sanctions and export control in a general phrase, without naming Russia, and that neither confirms a block nor rules one out.
Can I pay for Kimi with cryptocurrency?
Payment in cryptocurrency is not described on Kimi's official payment pages (kimi.ai, kimi.com, platform.kimi.ai). Only the standard ways of paying for a subscription and topping up the API are accepted, those available in your region at the time you sign up.
