Claude Desktop
The official Anthropic app can be connected to codexkey without an Anthropic subscription, with the same key as in the other tools.
Setup
- Install the app and choose Help → Troubleshooting → Enable Developer Mode from the menu (☰). You do not need to sign in.
- In the new Developer menu choose
Configure Third-Party Inference… - In the connection section choose
Gatewayand fill in the fields:

Gateway auth scheme x-api-keyLeave the Gateway SSO IdP (OIDC) section empty.
- In the Models section turn on Model discovery: the model list loads from
https://api.codexkey.online/v1/models. The Test model discovery button checks the connection immediately. Pick Claude models. - Click
Apply Changesand the app restarts. If the sign-in screen opens again, chooseOr sign in with Gatewayon it.
Important: In the Gateway base URL field the address has no /v1.
When something goes wrong
The model list is empty
Click Test model discovery. If the check fails, compare the address (no /v1) and the key from the API Keys section.
Error 401
The key starts with sk_cdx_ and has to be active. The other codes are covered in the error reference.
