VS Code extensions
Editor extensions work in one of two modes: OpenAI Compatible (address with /v1) or Anthropic (address without /v1).
Claude Code
Install the extension. It reads the same ~/.claude/settings.json as the CLI: fill it in following the Claude Code guide and restart the editor.
Cline, Roo Code, Kilo Code
Open the extension panel → settings → API Provider and fill in the fields:
text
API Provider: OpenAI Compatible
Base URL: https://api.codexkey.online/v1
API Key: sk_cdx_YOUR_KEY
Model ID: claude-sonnet-5
Context Window Size: 1000000Always give the context size, or the extension will take the model for a 128K one and start compacting history too early.
Continue
Open the file ~/.continue/config.json (on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.continue\config.json) and add a model:
json (~/.continue/config.json)
{
"models": [
{
"title": "codexkey · Claude Sonnet 5",
"provider": "openai",
"model": "claude-sonnet-5",
"contextLength": 1000000,
"apiBase": "https://api.codexkey.online/v1",
"apiKey": "sk_cdx_YOUR_KEY"
}
]
}New models are picked up as soon as the file is saved.
Any other extension
Pick the provider type and use the matching address:
| Provider type | Base URL | Key |
